Yesterday saw the saddest day to date in Team Tsuki. Our beautiful boy Twilight (Tsuki Daylight Star) was taken from us aged only 3 years. Twi was a happy boy who always seemed to get the worst luck with illness but battled on through it regardless. He was funny and clever and never too busy to spare a lick and a cuddle for anybody who needed him. The youngest of our four dogs, it seems so, so unfair that our baby boy was taken from so soon after he finally seemed to be recovering from the illness that plagued him his whole short life.

Having seen Twi die of chronic, congenetial renal dysplasia, it seems unlike that Tsuki Skye Terriers will continue. The little genetic evidence we have from the breed suggests that both Luna and Clyde, Twi's parents, must be carriers. It also seems likely that his big brother Freedom is also a carrier, so we no longer have any dog from which we can breed. All I can say is that I hope our discovery will help protect other Skye's in generations to come.
